Malcolm June is a singer-songwriter living in Albuquerque, New Mexico. June's musical roots were planted in the Church of Christ where worship music filled the halls of the small Los Alamos congregation. His love of singing soon translated to the halls of high school musical theater where he played Conrad Birdie in Bye Bye Birdie. Following high school, June dabbled in college drama at New Mexico State and then took a brief jaunt to Eugene, Oregon where he began his love affair with playing guitar and a VW Bus named, Betty Lou. Being a father of three demanded a return back to Northern New Mexico where he eventually met-up with art-school drop-outs and east coast transplants who came to form the Hollis Wake. The Hollis Wake recorded two albums with seeming success and regional tours in the van, Daniel Day Lewis. Those were the days when stardom seemed so close and the rock n' roll lifestyle seemed like the only way to live. Sadly, the band broke-up, and most everyone has gone their separate ways. Today, Malcolm draws inspirations from Billy Bragg, Paul Simon, Richard Thompson, Frightened Rabbit, and the great, Jon Prine. His current band, Full Speed Veronica, can be caught rocking out in his home basement every Sunday afternoon kicking out original songs inspired by the Pixies, REM, Guided By Voices, and Cheap Trick. June's side project, June-Storey, is an Indie-Folk duo who soothes the buzzed ears of the local brewery scene and can be regularly spotted in the local singer-songwriter community. In 2016, Malcolm made a return to the acting stage where he played Norwegian Explorer, Roald Amundsen, in the play, Terra Nova.  June has also played various characters in Shakespeare's Henry IV and V. In 2017, June has plans to busk in the streets of Burque, make sweet music with friends, and continue to explore new acting roles. Photography by Amanda Powers.
