Paisley Prine’s Malcolm June, is a singer-songwriter living in Tucson, Arizona. June's musical roots were planted in the Church of Christ where worship music filled the halls of the small Los Alamos congregation. His love of singing soon translated to the halls of high school musical theater where he played Conrad Birdie in Bye Bye Birdie. Following high school, June dabbled in college drama at New Mexico State and then took a brief jaunt to Eugene, Oregon where he began his love affair with playing guitar and a VW Bus named, Betty Lou. Being a father of three demanded a return back to Northern New Mexico where he eventually met up with art-school drop-outs and east coast transplants who came to form the Hollis Wake. The Hollis Wake recorded two albums with seeming success and regional tours in the van, Daniel Day Lewis. Those were the days when stardom seemed so close and the rock n' roll lifestyle seemed like the only way to live. Sadly, the band broke-up, and most everyone has gone their separate ways. Today, Malcolm draws inspiration from Billy Bragg, Paul Simon, Richard Thompson, Frightened Rabbit, and the great, Jon Prine. His current band, Paisley Prine, can be caught rocking out in a Sonoran Studio, kicking out original songs inspired by the Pixies, REM, Guided By Voices, and Cheap Trick.
